“Go back to Russia”, ndërsa ajo sqaron se është shtetase ukrainase.

Denoncimi i plotë:

Hello ! My name Anastasiia! I am a Ukrainian citizen living in Albania with my family 2.5 years. I am reaching out because after what happened, I feel completely powerless and do not understand how a person can protect themselves and their rights in such a situation.

A few days ago, I was at a playground in Golem with my three-year-old daughter. A normal children’s situation happened over a swing — my daughter sat on a swing near another little girl. After that, the other child started crying, and her mother began aggressively shouting at me in Albanian. I said that I do not understand Albanian.

Later, the woman switched to English and started telling me to “go back to Russia.” I explained that I am Ukrainian. After that, we left the playground for a while to calm my daughter down.

When we were returning, this woman and her husband were walking past us. She spat near my feet and said:

“Fuck you, Russian slut, go home.”

After that, a physical assault happened. I was alone with my small child. The woman’s husband threw me to the ground and kicked me in the stomach, while the woman hit me in the head. All of this happened in front of my three-year-old daughter, who was screaming and crying in fear.

I called my husband and asked him to come immediately and call the police. After everything that happened, I was left with the feeling that even with evidence and witnesses, I still cannot protect myself.

We went to the police, however:

— part of my statement was not fully written down;

— I was not given a copy of my statement;

— there are security cameras near the location, but later we were told that obtaining the footage was “impossible” because it is private property;

— my husband provided the police with photos of the attackers and the license plate number of the car they left in, but as far as I know, this was also not properly taken into consideration.

After the assault, I went to Durres Hospital. They performed an X-ray, but refused to provide me with either the images or a written medical report.What shocks me most is not only the assault itself, but also the feeling that everything can be “solved with one phone call to the right person.” It creates the impression that if someone has connections, the issue simply disappears.

I am deeply upset that despite injuries, witnesses, photos, a license plate number, and possible surveillance footage, I still do not feel protected by the law.

I believe that if Albania wants to be a modern European country, then police and medical institutions should not ignore violence or protect people who break the law.

This was not just a “small argument.” It was a group assault where those people were the first to become physically aggressive. In addition, there were insults and hostility directed at me based on nationality.

I do not want to accuse all Albanian people — during my time living here, I have met many kind and good people. But I believe situations like this should not be silenced. A European country should function according to law, not according to the principle that “a friend will solve everything.”

I am ready to provide photos of my injuries, photos of the attackers, the car’s license plate number, and other evidence confirming what happened.Thank you for your attention to my story.

Today, three days after the attack on me, I contacted the Ukrainian Consulate and came to Durres to file a report there. Because it seemed that the police in Golem had been influenced by the people who assaulted me.

They finally listened to me, and only after I involved the Ukrainian consul did they take my statement and ISSUE A MEDICAL EXAMINATION REPORT FOR THE HOSPITAL — three days later.

Even though this should have been done by the Golem police from the very beginning. They simply did not want to deal with it.

In any case, I truly love Albania, and bad people exist everywhere. But it is very upsetting that, in order for a foreign citizen to receive help, they have to contact their consulate first.

Albania is a country where many foreigners now live, work, and invest their money. And I just want to say that hatred and violence based on racism are terrible.

But I also want other people to know: you should always go to the police and never stay silent about situations like this. Only then is there a chance for things in the country to change.

The incident happened on May 10th.

But my statement was only properly accepted and I was given copies on May 12th, and not in Kavajë, but in Durrës.

Because in Kavajë they told me to “forget” about it.
